Kristjan Jõgeva, which is Thing’s civil name, has first appeared on the scene in 2012, when he released his first tracks on his own Dubthing imprint. His enthusiasm for composing music was apparent right from the beginning. The frequency with which he produces music can be boldly compared to musical machine guns of the likes of Calibre. Not all his tracks were in 170 BPM tempo and not all of them were critically acclaimed. However, quite frequently he comes with a superb release in which he fully demonstrates his ability to create unmistakable deep-tribal atmosphere.

It didn’t take too long before he's caught the attention of the first league drum&bass labels. He got first noticed by the legendary Doc Scott. Under his leadership he's released his first solo release on notorious 31 Recordings label. Last year he came out with another release on Blu Mar Ten Music and his talent's got also recognised when Fact Magazine placed him in their Top 10 names to watch in drum&bass next year. His new Soundscapes EP does by no means feature any new sound. It's a signature Thing as we have got to know him, with his crystal clear sound and an atmosphere that cuts to the very core. It surely enough is one those releases in which he just gave the best out of himself.

Concealed Identity proved such a brilliant addition to the Narratives camp and this 12" shows exactly why. Both cuts are deep, cinematic and emotive - definitely timeless music.
